Race 6: Sunday, December 14, 2014 at LangeTwins Winery in Acampo

This race has been designated as the USA Cycling
Northern California Nevada Cycling Association (NCNCA) District Championship!

This is the ONLY Sacramento Cyclocross race where EVERY racer will be required to either hold a current annual USAC license or purchase a one-day license in order to race.

Please note that because of the championship designation, there are additional classes available at this race! Sacramento Cyclocross series points will be calculated using the series-wide classes.

You will register online one time, and it is your only chance to save money on the season! After you register online, you may race any other race in the series -- just bring your bib and RFID chip to registration on race morning and pay.

You will be issued a waterproof, resuable RFID chip at your first race, and you will keep the chip all season. A $20 deposit for the chip will be added to your first race, and it will be refunded when you return the chip at the end of the season.

Course description: A course designed by Cody Kaiser heads up over the flyover before decending into the fields around the winery. Levy's provide short elevation gains before heading out to a new addition for this year. Tight turns and steep rollers in the trees will be a great addition to the course before coming back into high speed second half on both gravel and pavement. This course will challenge every racer individually and provide for some great championship racing.

District Championships Overview

USAC License Required
This is the only race in the 2014 Sacramento Cyclocross season that is sanctioned through USA Cycling... so we decided to go big and make it the Northern California and Nevada State Championship! All racers will be required to either hold a current annual USA Cycling license or purchase a one-day license for $15. State Championship medals will be awarded to the top three racers in each category who hold an annual license.

District Championship Specific FAQs
For answers to questions about licenses, callups, race-age dates and more, please see our Race #6 FAQs.

Prizes and Payouts
Prizes for all categories will be provided by Yolo Brewing Company, LangeTwins Winery and Kinetic Cycles. Cash payouts will be awarded to the Elite Men, Elite Single Speed Men, and Elite Women categories. Payouts are sponsored by REACH Air Medical Services. REACH is also offering all racers a discounted annual membership.

Demo Bikes
Specialized Crux demo bikes will be available at the race. Stop by Kinetic Cycles before the race to reserve your size.

Neutral Support
With the super-muddy conditions, we're bringing out SRAM neutral support with mechanic, bikes and wheels in the pits to keep you going.

FAQ's About District Championships

What date will you use to calculate race age?
The Sacramento Cyclocross series uses December 31, 2014 to calculate race age. However, we recognize that USA Cycling uses December 31, 2015 to calculate race age for cyclocross. (This is very strange to us, but that's beside the point!) Therefore, we will keep racers in their normal, series-wide class; however, racers who are eligible to race in a higher age class may request to change classes when they check-in at registration. Please note that your series points will not transfer if you choose to race in a different class. For the junior classes where there is an age cap (9 - 10, 11 - 12, etc), we will use the December 31, 2015 date for ALL junior racers.

How will callups work?
Because this is the NCNCA district championship, the first row will be callups based on USA Cycling cyclocross ranking points. The second row will be callups based on Sacramento Cyclocross series points. You must be pre-registered OR have raced at least one Sacramento Cyclocross race this season to be on the callup list! Pre-registration closes on Thursday, December 11 at 6:00 pm.

How will series points be calculated for the "extra" classes available at this race?
USA Cycling required additional classes be available for this race because it is NCNCA district championships. (Men's A 55+ and Men's A 65+, Women's A 45+ and 55+, and additional junior classes.) We will stage these classes separately, then start them with the classes available throughout the whole series. After the race is over, we will combine classes when appropriate and calculate series points based on those normal classes. Please note that your series points will not transfer if you choose to race in a completely different class (e.g. A's instead of B's).

Do I need a USA Cycling license to race this day?
ALL racers must be licensed through USA Cycling to participate in this race. Racers who have a 2014 annual USA Cycling license meet this qualification. Racers who do not have an annual license may purchase a one-day license for $10 at registration on race day. Please note: Only racers with an annual USA Cycling license are eligible for NCNCA district championship medals.
